Newsom vetoes AB 2571 on pharmacist pay at health centers
Issue
Governor Newsom vetoed AB 2571 by Assemblymember Heath Flora on September 27, 2026. The bill would have set Medi-Cal pay for advanced practice pharmacist services at 85% or more of the physician fee schedule and sought federal approval to count pharmacists as FQHC and RHC providers.
His veto message cites millions in ongoing costs missing from this year's budget.
