Where our information comes from, how we label it, and how often it updates.
News items
News items come from public sources whenever we can: government records, state budgets, court filings, agency bulletins, association statements, WARN notices, and named news reports. Each item keeps its source link and the name of the publisher.
Directory and open data
Directory profiles combine public HRSA identifiers, each organization's own website, known programs, and categories we assign. The public data catalog offers CSV downloads and RSS feeds so researchers can see how it is built.
Estimates and vendor claims
When a number is our estimate or a vendor's own claim, the sentence says so.
Where the sources come from
Sources include HRSA, CMS, BLS, NLRB, state legislatures and agencies, election offices, and health center groups. How much each one covers, and how often it updates, varies. Check each item's link and date.
Dates and updates
Each main tracker shows when it last updated and how often it updates. A date on a page covers only the data on that page. It is the last time that data changed.
