HRSA sends nearly $25 million to 132 small rural hospitals
Issue
On September 10, 2026, HHS announced nearly $25 million for 132 small rural hospitals in 13 states through HRSA's Rural Hospital Provider Assistance Program. HRSA says the money helps hospitals keep physicians and nurses and reduce the risk of avoidable closures.
Health centers can check the award list for hospital partners in their service area.
