Texas

KOSA reported August 27, 2026 that Medical Center Health System received a $650,000 HRSA New Access Point grant that designates all four MCH Family Health Clinics in Odessa as federally qualified health centers: two family health clinics, a kids clinic, and a women's clinic. The federal award record (H8055731, August 1, 2026 to July 31, 2027) lists Ector County Hospital District/MCH Family Health Clinic as a Section 330(e) community health center applicant that received look-alike designation in 2008, serves patients at those four existing locations, and projects 15,550 patients and 49,975 visits in calendar year 2026.

Executive Director David Garcia said the funding will target obesity, diabetes, and heart disease and called the new status a first step toward future federal funding opportunities.
