Texas awards $51 million in rural grants to 68 hospital districts
Issue
Governor Greg Abbott announced the first round of Rural Texas Strong grant awards on September 28, 2026. Sixty-eight rural hospital districts and authorities received $750,000 each, about $51 million in total, for prevention, wellness and nutrition programs.
The announcement names no community health center.
