CMS expects to announce state rural health award amounts October 31

On October 20, 2026, America’s Essential Hospitals reported that CMS expects to announce state award amounts for the Rural Health Transformation Program on October 31. Amounts will depend on each state’s compliance with its transformation plan.
States that miss their checkpoints may see future funds reduced, or in extreme cases rescinded.
