Texas secures nearly $12 billion in Medicaid provider funding from CMS

Governor Greg Abbott said on September 17, 2026 that Texas secured nearly $12 billion in Medicaid funding after months of negotiation with CMS. He said it covers hospitals, physicians, rural clinics, nursing facilities and behavioral health providers, and The Texas Tribune reported the payments had been halted since September 1.
The release does not list health centers.
