Alabama names FQHCs among its first 138 rural health grants
Issue
On August 24, 2026, Alabama announced 138 initial Rural Health Transformation grants totaling more than $144 million. Named recipients include Whatley Health Services ($3.49 million), Franklin Primary Health Center, Capstone Health and Cahaba Medical Care, which gets $280,579 to renovate a new Selma FQHC site.
