Karuk Tribe of California Health Program serves tribal members in Happy Camp, Orleans, and Yreka — three extremely remote communities in the Klamath River canyon. One of California's most isolated FQHC sites. NHSC Loan Repayment — maximum possible award for frontier tribal health.
Requirements
- MD/DO with California medical license; Board Certified or Eligible in Family Medicine
- NHSC Loan Repayment eligible — maximum award for frontier tribal health designation
- Cultural humility and deep respect for Karuk Tribe sovereignty, healing traditions, and the Klamath River's spiritual significance to the community
- Willingness to live/work in Happy Camp — 3+ hours from any major city, road closures possible
- Native American health or rural frontier medicine experience strongly preferred
